Our employment support service was created to help you find a job. Whether you are looking for your first job, a job related to your field of studies or a summer job, the employment support service gives you the tools you need to make your job search more efficient. By choosing our service, you start a process during which you will meet with one of our qualified employment counsellors three times. Our counsellor will help you to identify your employment goal and define the means by which you can best attain it, as well as help you to write a resume tailored to your profile and employment goals, and a cover letter. Finally, in order to ensure you have all the tools necessary to find a job, we will give you tips on how to set yourself apart from the rest of the workforce, create a good impression during the interview, and improve your job-searching skills.

The Educational and Occupational Information service can guide you with respect to your course of studies or career choice. Our counsellors can, among other things, provide you with information on the content and admission criteria of training programs, on Quebec’s educational institutions, on job openings and job-placement rates. You can also receive help to fill an enrolment application to an educational institution or to complete a loans and bursaries application. This service is also offered by telephone. The documentation centre is the focal point of the Carrefour jeunesse-emploi de Laval. Under the watchful eye of a counsellor, and with all our available tools in hand, you can conduct your job search on your own, but with supervision. To help you, we put at your disposition reference materials on the job market and professions, newsmagazines on employment, daily newspaper, binders containing job offers, computers with Internet access, a printer, two photocopiers, a phone booth with two telephones and, of course, all the expert advice of our dedicated counsellor. We have even created a kids’ corner for the convenience of parents in search of employment.

You will be able to meet with a counsellor to discuss the different options you are contemplating, to gather academic or occupational information, or to fill out an enrolment application.
